I Don't Feel Like A Title

Update: I broke down and started calling around to find a dr. on Tuesday. Naturally no one was accepting new patients. How did I know that was going to happen? I just bit the bullet and went on down to Urgent Care. I have never used my insurance, so I was worried how it would be handled. I took my credit card, prepared for the worst. I signed in at 10:13am, and was out by 2pm, which I didn't think was too bad, considering the drs. also see patients who have appointments, along with the emergencies. The damage was only my $15 co-pay, and instructions to take a decongestant and a pain reliever. Once I got over my embarrassment at having wasted everyone's time, I was fine. The rememdy seems to be working - EXCEPT that now one bothersome tooth hurts if you push on it. I know, don't push on it. It's obviously not my sinuses now, just a dental problem. Did I say just? Did I mention I'd rather give birth than see the dentist? (I'd give birth, but you'd have to take the results!) I've never had a toothache, but I do believe I have one now. Not being a dental expert, my diagnosis of root canal may be way off, but probably not. My sister is here visiting, and she has had 3 root canals, knows what they feel like before and after, and has been nice enough not to scare me. Of course, I keep wondering if it's an abcess and will it infect my brain? Yes, I realize I have an anxiety problem. It hurts, but we're heading up to Balsam, NC to stay overnight at the Balsam Mountain Inn, so I guess I'll call to make an appt. - for later! Just not too much later. Can I tell you how much this pisses me off? The word crap doesn't even begin to cover it.
On the knitting front, I've started the flower basket shawl from the Fall 2004 Interweave Knits. Yeah, I know, I seem to have missed that bandwagon a while back. I'm using some alpaca I finished spinning up this past fall. I took it to the drs. on Tuesday, and realized that I really can't talk and follow a chart at the same time. All in all, it's a pretty easy pattern to follow.
My sister opened her birthday presents, including the Wool Peddler's shawl. I do love that shawl! I'll take pictures of it up at the Inn today, with the mountains as a backdrop. Did I mention that it's supposed to snow there tonight? Good God people, it's almost May!
I'll leave you with some pictures of the desserts we had at a bridal shower last week. They were all made by a friend of mine who quit her job to bake for a living. Obviously she's pretty good at it!
Okay, you get one picture for now, because blogger (no caps, they don't deserve it) is stupid, and I hate them. Did I mention that my tooth hurts?

I hate dentists!! I'd give birth without anesthesia rather than go to the dentist...but I don't want more babies. :)

Hope you had a great weekend in Balsam.

Catching Up

First things first - you might have noticed I've changed the name of the blog. Knitting NonPareil was appropriate at one time, but I don...
