finally!

some fiber content. I know, I know, I can't believe it either. Appearing below for your viewing pleasure are two bobbins of merino/silk blend. It's too bad I only bought 1.6 oz. of each!
I have already plied the blue, and will hopefully get to the apricot soon.
The big BIG news is that I finished the damn Jaywalkers. Tedious. Boring. The pattern was fine, it's just me. They look cute, and will be soon winging their way to a certain sister in a cold clime for her birthday. (Enough of the birthday socks, right Shan?) I can't believe I actually thought of starting another pair of socks. Kill me now. I have some Opal Tiger stashed somewhere in the pigsty (pig sty?) I call a craft room, and I thought I'd use it next. I'd like to try some toe-up, plain socks with a ribbed cuff. Any suggestions on where to look for something like that? I could google it, but I'm lazy. I also broke out the 50 Baby Booties to Knit book by Zoe Mellor. After all, how hard could it be to make some baby booties? I'll probably live to regret that statement.
To completely change the subject, I'm getting ready to start taking classes at Clemson this fall. I rec'd my Kent State transcripts in the mail the other day, and I'm trying to find the course descriptions so I can get some kind of credit for them here at Clemson. One statistics class in particular was not listed in the current Kent State Catalog, all the way back to 1998. It was one freaking difficult class, if I remember correctly. I called up to Ohio, and a very nice woman named Judy in student services found an old catalog and faxed me the description of the class. I felt a need to share it. Hell, I could barely understand it anymore.

Quantitative and qualitative approaches to modern political analysis emphasizing skills, techniques, and theory of empirical data gathering and analysis.

Yeah, that's pretty much what it felt like back then, too. What do you want to bet I don't get any credit for the stinking thing? And I got an A in it, too!! I wonder if I'm too old for this crap anymore.

My eyes glazed over and started to roll back in my head just reading that course description.

Ah, you're never too old! Of course, I haven't tried going back to school at this age, myself. I might, though...
Toe-up socks: I'm guessing you don't have a pattern with a toe to get you started. Then you just work your way up. Try this: http://tiajudy.com/soxform.htm
