I think I can, I think I can . . .

Amanda, the first part of this post is for you. Your quilt is NOT going to be ready for your shower this coming weekend. You know, the best intentions, blah, blah, blah. I can promise you that it will be ready for the baby before he gets here. I have been winging it with the design, and I must say that I am LOVING IT! Keep in mind that this is only the beginning, that it will be bigger, with borders and whatnot. I just haven't thought it out that far yet! I'm planning on keeping the middle square blank so I can get his name and birth information embroidered there.

The two room pictures are the baby's room. I made the curtains, bumper pad and dust ruffle. The quilt coordinates with all the other stuff. And yes, the theme is Snoopy! His daddy painted a Snoopy mural on the wall, but I can't find the picture. Maybe you could resend it Amanda? They have the cutest Snoopy ceiling fan, too!
Next we have the silk scarf from hell. I have so much to learn when it comes to this silk painting stuff. It started out okay:

But then I had to go and paint in the background. Brown. To match the sweater I made. What was I thinking?

It only gets uglier from there. I don't think I let it dry long enough before I put it in the dye set bath. Now it sports water spots in certain places. Big enough to notice. I have a new design in mind, and better colors, but I've run out of time for the next week or so.
I am still working on Thermal (and will be for the next 50 or so years at this rate) and I've cheated on it by starting The Clementine Shawlette from the latest Interweave Knits.
I found some alpaca/silk on Elann. Peruvian Baby Silk in Peridot.
I'd take a picture, but it's in the car. I love this yarn, it's so soft and it shows stitch definition like a dream. It is a little bit splitty, but I'm being somewhat careful. Somewhat.
I'm off to Tifton, GA after work today to spend the next week trying to decide on a house to buy. We're going to come to blows over which house is the one. I know which one I want, and he knows which one he wants. Who do you think will win?

Well, who's the better ... um, convincer? I don't think that's a word. Anyway, try to avoid coming to blows ;-)
And that baby silk? I ordered some, in the same color, just the other day. It's going to be the Sivia Harding Shetland Garden Faroese shawl.
Good luck on the house thing.

First things first - you might have noticed I've changed the name of the blog. Knitting NonPareil was appropriate at one time, but I don...
