Excuse me while I put on my mittens . . .

in April! I feel like I'm back living in NE Ohio, and that's something I had hoped to never feel again. The weather must be the reason for my renewed knitting frenzy. I finished another pair of felted clogs (love those things), worked some on Thermal, and am finishing up the baby quilt. Yesterday a friend of mine called me to meet her for lunch, because she had a surprise for me.

Yes, that would be two balls of Manos del Uruguay in colorway 113, "Wildflowers". I had given her a copy of the My So-Called Scarf, and was telling her that I didn't think it looked good in any fiber but this, but that I doubted my budget was going to allow for it anytime soon. She found a store in Watkinsville, GA that had the yarn on sale, so bought us each enough to make the scarf. I couldn't wait to start it! Doesn't it look great? If it doesn't warm up I'll be able to wear this summer.

In other news, Boo lost his first tooth, the same week he signed up for kindergarten. He now has yet another loose tooth! And baby Dan got his first tooth on Monday! This is all happening at lightening speed! Dan is now on his hands and knees, rocking, ready to start the crawling thing. Luke is content to pivot still. I'm sure it won't be long until he is crawling around, chasing Dan.
Here's the latest pics of the house, featuring the gables and the back porch.

I agree with your assessment about the yarn for that scarf. I've tried to knit it in several other yarns/colorways and nothing looks as nice.

Don't you just love that scarf pattern? I used the "cheap version" of Manos from Handpaintedyarn.com, and it worked well, but I would love some of that Wildflowers colorway.

First things first - you might have noticed I've changed the name of the blog. Knitting NonPareil was appropriate at one time, but I don...
