Rainy Days and Fridays

Who cares? It's Friday! My swap girl from the Knit It Forward Ravelry swap got her pkg. already. Wow - is this the same postal service Knit Picks uses? Anyway, it took, what? 2 days to get from Tifton, GA to Washington state. Now that's service.
I finally finished spinning up the merino I bought in Gatlinburg, TN over the Christmas holidays. And I even plyed it! I actually paid attention to what I was spinning, aiming for a thicker yarn than I usually spin. It was decidedly harder to spin thicker. Here's what I ended up with:

The color is darker in person, more like a watch plaid. I haven't measured it, or checked the wpi, or hung it to get the kinks out yet. I'm just enjoying the fact I finished something.

Okay this is going to sound dumb but do you use a spinning wheel to do this? It's neat that you can make your own unique yarn!
