I'm On A Roll

I finished 3 more items since the Clapotis, and I lived! Jesse's baby shower was last Saturday in Clemson, so I knew I was under the gun. I finished the Pixie sweater and one of the receiving blankets last week, but I was working on the second receiving blanket on the way up! I don't have a pic of the second one, but here is the first one and the sweater.

My fingers were numb after finishing that first blanket, so I did the second one my own way. Much easier on the hands! The pattern called for 270 stitches on each of the 4 sides of the blanket. That was a little much, so I just eyeballed the second one and it turned out fine. They were fun to make, so I'll probably do some more.
The shower was great, it was more like a family reunion than a baby shower. At one point we were playing a game that involved writing down answers to questions about Jesse. The question was "Jessica is a certified blank blank." Six-year-old Bowen was playing, too, and he blurted out, "Red Neck!" I guess that's the first thing that comes to mind when you're a 6-yr.-old boy in the deep south. The correct answer was Project Manager! Here are some pictures from the shower. Aww, it looks like it was so much fun! I wish I could've been there. "Certified red neck!" HA! I am working on her gift but Suzi has been whining and clinging to my legs a lot (teething) and I have to hold her most of the time. So it may take a while...

Catching Up

First things first - you might have noticed I've changed the name of the blog. Knitting NonPareil was appropriate at one time, but I don...
