The fabric is pretty delicate, which is fine, because the recipient is only 17 mos. old, really not old enough to do much damage.
I'll probably make a few more of these, because they're really easy, and because I hate to use my pretty vintage pillowcases for people to put their stinky heads on. Just kidding, everyone who stays at my house has delicately fragranced hair. Except for my grandsons, but I make them bathe - a lot!
In other news, the weather has been beautiful here (yes, I'm at the age where I like to discuss the weather, and how it affects me) with not much rain. Except for yesterday. We were slated to finally get some rain, and I'll be damned if I didn't get a migraine. I nipped it in the bud, but I'm still feeling a little peaked.
Other news: John put misters in my raised beds. I wanted soaker hoses, but since I didn't buy them or put them in, I'll take the misters. It sure beats standing out there watering everything. I've got salad greens, onions, and swiss chard ready to pick and eat, along with lots of herbs. My cilantro must have seeded itself, because it showed up again on its own this spring. Why don't cilantro and tomatoes share the same growing season?? By the time I have ripe tomatoes, the cilantro is long gone!
I had some mysterious seedlings sprouting in a section of one bed that I just couldn't identify. I hadn't planted anything there, (recently) and thought maybe they were some volunteer radishes. Or something. It finally hit me this week that they're 4 o'clocks!! I forgot that I had a plant there last year - I really need to keep better notes, don't I?

I have thought about trying to make a pillowcase dress, but haven't gotten around to it yet. They look like something I could probably figure out. We planted a garden this year too, but keeping the dog out of it has been a bit of a challenge. The other morning I caught her digging in it (she didn't ruin anything, luckily) and when I yelled at her to stop she looked up at me with her filthy nose and mouth full of dirt and looked so ashamed. It's like she can't help herself.
Also, thanks so much for the wool you sent me! I was so excited to get it and I can't wait to use it. Hopefully Suzi and I will be able to make something fun together.
Cute dress! If I ever sleep at your house I'll be sure my hair smells like springtime.
Dont forget I have a baby about to turn one next month that would love to have a vintage pillowcase dress!!
