No, not with food, but with yarn! This is not another tutorial on how to dye with beverage powders, but rather my attempt to create my own unique yarn, for less than $6.00. Here is the yarn (KnitPicks 100% merino):
And here it is, soaking in hot water with some mild dish detergent (for 30 minutes):
Just so you don't think you have to have professional tools to do this:

Okay, so the purple could have been brighter, but give me a break, it was my first try. I'm already thinking ahead to my next session, but only after I've finished these. Yeah, right.

That yarn is beautiful! I've never dyed anything before, but I've got some white merino yarn and I'm thinking of using Kool-Aid.
I've been meaning to try to dye my own yarn. I even bought the book, Yarns to Dye For. Great tutorial!
