I decided to give Flower Basket another good, long soak, but this time in a tea bath. I didn't like the boring vanilla of it all! I unpinned her last night, and brought her to work, so I could get some of my students to photograph her for me. I actually don't own any students, I think it's illegal or something, but I consider them mine. Miss Lesli gets the credit for the photography, and Miss Kristin is the model. They said they were goofing around, but I couldn't believe it when I saw the pictures. They're great! And no, they don't knit, and as far as I know, they've never seen a knitting mag. Of course, they are Performing Arts students, so I guess creativity is second nature. The talent doesn't stop there - oh no - Miss Kristin makes a mean creme brulee (torched it right in my office), and sang the national anthem at the baseball game last week. Miss Lesli is a National Honors scholar (from the frozen white north) who switched her major from genetics to Performing Arts the first week of school. I swear I could hear her mother saying, "And what kind of job can you get with that degree?", after being revived with smelling salts. Looks like photography might be a good choice. I think from now on I'm just gonna send them out with my finished objects and the camera and see what they come up with. And get this - they're freshmen. That means I have at least another 3 years of them! I had better get busy with the knitting!

Aww, Theresa, you are the cutest :) It's Lesli, your little miss photographer, coming to view my masterpieces -- and yours as well! I'm so proud of you, it turned out gorgeous. See you soon!

Looks great, and I love the photos.
Hi Theresa! Gorgeous wedding basket shawl - really, I love it. I'm so glad you linked over from Moth Heaven - we do have a lot in common! And of course now, because you asked I'll have to do the 100 things (have you, because if not I'm tagging you back)!
It took me almost a year to finish the Gypsy Mesh sweater - I project hopped waaay too much and finally got serious about finishing something - I wish I'd finished sooner, I wear it all the time - you should pick yours back up again!
WOW! Everything is gorgeous--the shawl, the photography, the model. Good work, all of you.
Good job, Theresa! The tea seems to have made a subtle difference in the color. Your students did well with the modeling & photography, too. I have the ingredients to make a Flower Basket someday ... someday.
Lovely shawl. If only we could all have personal models and photographers.
I would have never thought of using tea to tone down the whiteness. Thanks for a great tip and great photos and style ideas.
Teresa, you are so talented! You're a pretty funny kid also, I enjoyed reading your blog. I think one of your best talents is just hanging out and being with your budddies! Janis
